The Tories are all-in with Putin. Just like the Republicans in the US.
Russian ambassador Yakovenko hosted a lavish party in the gardens of his residence in Kensington with guests who included the former minister of culture, media and sport, John Whittingdale, and Boris Johnsonβs now wife, Carrie Symonds
Hereβs my #introduction.
I am a climate scientist who studies the ocean carbon cycle. I also work on verifying ocean-based carbon dioxide removal (#CDR).
Iβm a professor at University of HawaiΚ»i at MΔnoa, and Iβm also an adjunct at Columbia University and Ecole normale supΓ©rieure in Paris.
In addition to academia, I advise companies on carbon offsets and CDR.
According to the New York Times, here are my interests.

A final thought: Mastodon is what you make it. And, whether you intended it that way or not, the post that got my response on here came across condescending and patronizing. You're oh-so-earnest-and-better because you want to address Serious Issues, and the rest of us are just farting around with cat photos. Not a tone many will respond to with gracious welcomes.

I never had a Twitter account - I don't want to be spoon fed the things an algorithm thinks I might want to see, and I've been fighting my entire life, I'm old, and I only have so much energy for the fights that are most critical to me. Feel free to browse through the people I follow, there's some deep politics in there. But there's also light stuff that's just for fun, because something I need a fucking break.

When you see a post that's along the lines of something which interests you, click on the poster's profile. Follow them if they're discussing things you want to see. Click on the list of accounts they follow, and follow them, too. If the page comes up empty, that means it's on another server, but you get a link to follow to see it.

Today my babies are 17. ππ
They are thriving, healthy, happy, silly, loving, caring, and brilliant thinkers.
I was so afraid when they were born 6 weeks early. Heartbroken when they had to stay in the NICU as I went home alone. Exhausted solely nursing them for a year. Worried when they didnβt make milestones for growth.
Every minute of struggle was worth it to get here. They are greatly loved. Especially by their older sister and that is my greatest gift. β€οΈβ€οΈβπ©Ή
Happy Birthday boys! I love you

Those sneaky devils. Who would think of looking for a submarine there?
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
