@crooksandliars Because he's guilty as hell and is used to being surrounded by "yes" men and women in Florida. Well, DeathSantis, if you're running for a national office, you need to handle hard questions from journalists who aren't kissing your behind. Get out of the kitchen if you can't stand the heat.
@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics @autisticadvocacy I really enjoyed "How Not To Be Wrong" by Jordan Ellenberg, a non-fiction book on survivor bias and intuitive descriptions of complex math, and "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir a speculative hard-science fiction book about, among other things, an allegory for how we would go about trying to stop an event on the level of the climate crisis
In response to questions about the EU's new #DigitalServicesAct, want to share 2 posts about #Wikipedia's designation as a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP)
First from Wikimedia Foundation's Lead Counsel: https://w.wiki/6dtq (the WMF is also working on a blog post, which we'll post when it's up)
And second is Wikimedia Europe's EU Policy Monitoring report for April: https://w.wiki/6du4
Both are worth reading in full, will also summarize in a π§΅
@johnnyprofane1 Iβve been very happy to have discovered this pocket of #nuerodivergent folks here in the #fediverse. β€οΈ #ActuallyAutistc @actuallyautistic @actuallyadhd
Today's word of the day in #Mikmaq
Sinumkw.
Sinumkw is a Canada Goose.
The Canada Goose is also referred to as the Cobra Chicken, those feathered f*cks, and are rumoured to be where Canadians store their anger.
Unacceptable
βcivilian victims of the war died as a result of Ukraineβs decision to locate its forces in the vicinity of civiliansβ
Imagine blaming the civilians of Ukraine for being so irresistible to Russian cruise missiles that itβs their fault for being attacked
The military is stationed by civilians because Russia is attacking civilians
I will no longer donate to amnesty international. What about you?

Aim: destroy Murdochπ: Carlson was a symptom. The disease is Murdoch. He's been destroying journalism for 50 years. Rupert is worried about Smartmatic. Fox agreed to hand over more docs to their lawyers after the lawyers complained in a letter to the judge about βobvious gapsβ in the material Fox had provided. Judge David Cohen is seeking a βbroadening of discoveryβ -Dominion lawsuit: started the demolition of Murdochβs empire -Smartmatic would finish the job-: https://newrepublic.com/article/172287/rupert-murdoch-must-totally-utterly-humiliated
@Zumbador @actuallyautistic You don't have to be autistic to struggle with false questions. I do. How are you? Gets me every time. Much of the time I feel shit but the expected answer is, 'fine, how are you?' Then there's my wife's, Would you like to...?' Which means, 'I want you to...'
@milkteawitch @actuallyautistic
I do something physical, whatever I can; take a fast walk, scrub the kitchen, clean the appliances, mop the floors, anything I can focus on and that will take all my attention. The paced walking I talked about yesterday is good, because I focus on my steps matching the rhythm from my phone. If hubs comes home and every counter is filled with appliances in various states of disassembly so I can thoroughly clean them, he leaves me alone to finish.
Had a lot of stress and anxiety these past few weeks and Iβm feeling that physically right now.
Unfortunately this will go on for at least another week.
What do you do to cope with stress and anxiety? #ActuallyAutistic @actuallyautistic #autism

Very creamy mac&cheese, or cheese in general, anything with whipped cream, anything with butter.
I've had people joke that I don't have a sweet tooth, I have a fat tooth. Fortunately, my genotype lets me get away with it.
What are your top five comfort/safe foods?
I'll start!;
1. Dark Chocolate hot cocoa. (specifically in my favourite cup)
2. Kinder Bueno Chocolates (the mini ones are my go to)
3. Instant Chicken Flavoured Rice with shredded chicken pieces, and Kewpie mayo on top.
4. Granola bars or cereal, especially with chopped almonds or cranberries
5. Sour Cream and onion ridged chips
(I go for a specific brand for all of these items)

Anything by Scalzi, but particularly "Redshirts". Heinlein feels a little dated, now, but still has a soft spot in my heart. "The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich" was the first book I paid for with my own money, I saved up in 5th grade and bought it, after I stumbled across "In The Hell of Auschwitz" in my library. I still have it, and re-read it occasionally.
I'll be taking short medical leave, my friends.
Unsure how long... I'll explain a little later. I'm ok, but concerned.
#ActuallyAutistic @actuallyautistic @actuallyadhd
I'm 70. I suspect there'll be the unexplained emergency from to time from here on in.
To my subscribers? I apologize that I have not been producing as much recently.
I'm going thru a tailspin right now. Happens a fair amount to me. It may or may not be autistic burnout... or an underlying medical condition.
Iβll know more soon. But intend to write brief posts on itβ¦ involving autism, aging, body, and mind.
I have about 8 projects near completion⦠just having difficulty crossing the goal line right now.
I hope you can stick in there with meβ¦
@ElwoodCity @punkonbus1701@tenforward.social @JeriLRyan
Yup, and I followed her account when I first saw it. Seven and The Doctor were my two favorite characters from Voyager.
You mean @JeriLRyan ?
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
