Memories of the guy who explained (after Prop 8 passed) that he *had* been an ally, but the protests closed down streets, tied up traffic, and made his drive home unpleasant. He just couldn't support us after that.
I didn't consider it a huge loss.
Repeat after me:
Being an ally entitles you to exactly nothing.
It does not give you access to our bodies or the spaces those bodies inhabit. It does not give you a say in how we choose to protest or resist our oppression. It does not give you the right to police our actions, our customs, or our language.
If your allyship is conditional on any form of preferential treatment, it's not allyship.

Grief, loss of pet
This is Charlie.
He has been suffering from a variety of health problems for a few months now, and this morning it seemed clear to me that he's in pain and not going to get better. In a couple of hours we're going to the vet for humane euthanasia. I want to write down a few of my memories from our life together.

I recently discovered the Deutsche Welle (DW) channel on YouTube, and subscribed to it. They provide world news on a more even-handed basis, with good analysis, and without the endless pumping of drama.
This morning I saw a report saying she'd co-authored some pieces for Tucker Carlson. I can't verify, but if she has, I'd guess she jumped at the opportunity.
I didnβt not watch the bullsh!t #CNN giving trump a televised rally filled with only his supporters and allowing him to lie for a solid hourβ¦ but Iβve seen some clips.
For anyone whoβs seen more of this shitshow than I did, I get the impression #KaitlinCollins was A) thrown to the wolves with this assignment and B) in way over her head and C) very likely was told not to push back much.
Anyone else have a take on it?
Oh, and I will say again: Iβm done with CNN for good.

If I do need an answer, someone is available, answers my question, but does not engage in banter.
The cashier does not ask if I found everything I was looking for (if I hadn't would I be in the checkout line?) just rings me up, tells me the total, takes my money, and I leave.
