So today was busy, after the last week was busy. Took my 4 mile walk, took hubs over to get his old car detailed, did the Costco run, got home in time for lunch, walked over to Lowes and back, went to pick up the freshly detailed old car, stop for photos of same, list the old car for sale. Now a movie. Tomorrow I install (why the Lowes run) the charger for the new EV we bought, to replace old car.
I'm pooped.

Me either... but I actually used a bit of the lucid dream psychology on myself one night, before drifting off I mused how I would love to have flying dreams again, and imagined what it was like... and damn if I didn't have one that night! It was awesome... hasn't happened since but I haven't really put my mind to it π€
So I had a mandatory safety training class today, in person of course, because... π€·. Now, I have *no fucks* to give about everyone's precious "COVID's over" make-believe, so I show up in a full-face P100 (recommend, btw).
I'm the only one in any kind of mask.
Then the course opens with, I kid you not, a video trying to get the crowd into the ~safety~ mindset with "not that long ago, most of us didn't wear seatbelts, and if you were the only one to put yours on, it was an awkward situation..."

Definitely the dog. The dog walker might get a smile, after. But not unless the dog starts the conversation, by sniffing, wagging, or barking.
Do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades start their convos with the dog or their dogβs owner?
Traditionally, the male of the species is the most colorful. Normalize male fabulousness.
I've been on Masto for several years, but not very active. I recently changed instances, and never did an #introduction post before, so here we go!
I'm a photographer based on Halifax, NS, Canada, though my day job is as a software developer. My main interests are, in no particular order, #photography, home #baking & #cooking, #programming, #security, #equality, and #cats. Many others, but yeah.
My own posts will be mostly photography focused, and with that, here's a photo of my fluffy boy.
Myself, my wife, and two children (who are all also autistic) are all animal people. We often have multiple pets and form relationships with them.
Personally, I find animals more predictable than NT people! At least I can usually figure out animal motivations (food, attention, fear, etc). NT humans, not so much. #ActuallyAutistic

Contrasting point - for things like this, there could be last minute changes that are valid and necessary. Instead of no changes, I'd put in that changes must be in writing, and include the contract cost adjustments.

Phrased that way, it is wishful (hopeful?) thinking. Try this:
"I keep doing the same thing, I leverage that to get better opportunities, and, because my work is good, I create my own break"
Actively promote your work. Approach new groups with a portfolio of your best. Don't wait for them to offer, approach them.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing.
