I've been trying more #vegetarian bread spreads, and there's this quite delicious red bean purΓ©e, it tastes like a very (VERY!) mild chili sin carne.
... and for some fucking reason it's called "Indianer Bohnen Aufstrich"? Literally "American Indian Bean Spread".
Like... why? It's made in Austria!
Finished #RecordOfASpacebornFew by Becky Chambers last night, a really GREAT BOOK!
Not as personal and intense as her last one, but larger in scope and again so VERY HUMAN!
@gRuFtY @franzi One more update on the Wii U thing:
I managed to get the DRC-Sim backend running on my Thinkpad x230, and the frontend on my Windows 10 machine π
And then I had to do some black magic to configure the frontend to scale the screen correctly...
But! Now it works and I can #stream #Wii & #Gamecube games with digital output and without a capture card
Here's the software I used: https://github.com/rolandoislas/drc-sim
Has anyone ever forked #git? Like, gave it a sensible CLI?
Sadly that is literally impossible to search on the internet for :(
All I find are GUI clients...
I really don't know what they thought when designed this doorbell/intercom/opener thingy...
It only lets me talk to the person at the door and/or OPEN the door when
a) they pressed the button long enough for the bell to complete it's "ring" melody
b) they didn't press another button afterwards!
So when the mail delivery person rings at more than one flat, only the last one rung can actually open the door, and only if they didn't let go of the button "too early"...
Very annoying!
condoms, sex, STDs
@ser8phin I guess it's less obvious, harder to measure, and definitely unethical to do in experiments, so there are no hard numbers?
condoms, sex, STDs
@ser8phin No %.
"When used consistently and correctly, condoms are highly effective in preventing [STDs] that are transmitted through bodily fluids[...] they provide less protection against STDs spread through skin-to-skin contact like human papillomavirus, genital herpes, and syphilis.
Although highly effective when used consistently and correctly, there is still a chance of getting HIV if you only use condoms, so adding other prevention methods can further reduce your risk."
science literacy, condoms, sex
And I failed here, myself, the ACTUAL number is 98%!
So only TWO couples out of a hundred would get pregnant!
science literacy, condoms, sex
I recently read a post somewhere that said "Condoms are only 95% effective, that means if you have sex 20 times you WILL get someone pregnant."
That doesn't sound right...
And it wasn't! The "95% effective" is measured over a YEAR, not for every single time one has sex!
Out of 100 couples who use condoms ALL THE TIME, 5 became pregnant OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR!
That's still not great, but far from the "might as well not use condoms" the original post implied.
@dapperbear I'm all for downtime RP.
One of my favorite #RPG memories is my party going to a waterpark.
We spent two REALTIME hours just splashing around and flirting with cute NPCs!
birdsite, capitalism, Elon Musk, funny (imo)
My profile on the birdsite explicitly calls Capitalism my enemy, btw... so... I don't know what the fuck that dude's deal was.
Blocked him now.
Oh, and I forgot to mention it's 80% filler, 90% if you don't count the two good episodes.
It's like they took two episodes and stretched them out into a season by adding bullshit that is later undone without any consequences.
I finished #LegendOfKorra Season 2... and... UUUUUGH.
It's so VERY VERY BAD.
I don't remember the last time I consumed such an abysmal piece of media.
There are two good episodes in the middle ("The Beginning, Pt. 1 & 2), but the rest is complete shit, 100% skippable.
It makes no sense, is out of character, has horrible dialogue, continuity errors, and so so so much bullshit hand-waving instead of plot.
It has no redeeming features. Take the two good episodes in isolation and trash the rest.
