Like, is there any demand to post an episode of Card Sharks recorded off GSN in 2001, when someone's already uploaded a higher-quality version taken from Buzzr a year ago?
Cause that's something I'm noticing a lot when cataloging my VHS game show collection: Lots of duplicate shows already available in better quality.
Open question to folks who archive old TV from VHS and such:
Is it a good idea to digitize something of which there's already a better quality version out? Or is it a waste of time and resources?
Because I think that's why my VHS tape archiving has slowed down, because I stumble upon stuff in my collection that's already available elsewhere.
New Secret Area post: I talk about Desert Crisis, a mostly forgotten Half-Life multiplayer mod, and the eclectic soundtrack the team selected. Hope you like Aphex Twin.
Shares and comments appreciated, as always. https://asecretarea.com/2025/09/08/desert-crisis-half-life-mod-soundtrack/
New on Patreon: I nerd about an old Half-Life mod, Desert Crisis. But not just the mod itself, the eclectic music choices chosen. Hope you like Aphex Twin.
Available now if you subscribe, will be on the Secret Area in a few days: https://www.patreon.com/posts/138207877?pr=true
...I think I might write a full article about all this mod's soundtrack, heh
Guess it's silly hyperfixation time once again
Now that it's September, I'm thinking about that "September" Family Feud moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuhwWMO02xc
This month I got a little obsessive about participation on the web, and why it's so vital, and it got me thinking about my (sometimes, but not always) lonely blog.
