just drinking some whisky and listening to the eagles while I think about my life choices

how's your evening going

late 2000s era YouTube game reviewing is fascinating because there's some people like Derek from Stop Skeletons from Fighting that slightly pivoted their content as time went on and still make good stuff as a result.

On the other hand you end up with some youtube reviewers that fall right into the "SJWs are RUINING MY VIDEO GAMES" trap. and that's pretty sad, honestly.

For some reason I was trying to find this bad youtube review of some dude who reviewed that Battleship video game for the 360 and the dude's "gimmick" was him having anime plushies talk to them like they're from G-Unit.

I don't expect the review to be any *good*, but I always like torturing myself with bad game reviews.

I wrote about 1800 words about Far Cry 4.

Now to put that game aside and play something different, perhaps something janky like Wanted: Weapons of Fate or Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

Been playing through Far Cry 4 and man I couldn't be any less interested in this game.

It just feels like peak Ubisoft free-roamer with too many collectables and so much stuff to do that I get overwhelmed.

I usually don't abandon games but I'm strongly considering it for this one

been thinking about leggings lately

probably should be thinking about more summer-friendly clothes, though. like shorts.

hi I've been on mastodon for x years and I swear I know what I'm doing

It's a shame I don't know many music nerds, because I just wanna talk about this kind of stuff with people and I just don't have much of a place to share it :blobfrown:

There's something about that late 80s-early 90s sound of pop rock that I kinda like.

It's really hard to explain in text, but the songs I'm thinking of have, like subtle reverb/echo with fairly simple guitars and sometimes there's a random horn section?

I need to find examples to better explain this, it's hard for me to convey what I mean in text.

I moved my blog from the free Wordpress site to the current domain in March of last year.

To this day I am still updating posts to lead to posts on the current domain and not the old website.

Though I think I'm getting into the home stretch, as I updated all of 2018 and 2019's posts over the past couple of days.

A few days ago I heard Toto's 99 for the first time and it's become one of Those Songs that I keep playing on repeat for a while

It's been a long time since I have found a song like that

I'm enjoying listening to SomaFM's Underground 80s lately.

It's a mix of obscure songs I never heard of then stuff like New Order's Blue Monday or Talking Heads' Crosseyed and Painless.

That's what I can appreciate: the obscure stuff mixed in with stuff I'm *vaguely* familiar with.

feeling somewhat affectionate this evening

hi I'm mildly drunk and talking with peeps on discord

I'm okay with this.

I always seem to go through phases where I just like a *bunch* of Sonic fanart.

I mean, people draw Sonic and pals looking SO COOL, I can't resist liking it all
