Imagine me rolling up to someone going "hey, you wanna see my old Panasonic VHS-C camcorder?"

"I have these VHS copies of a James Bond movie, some delightfully faded from constant watching, wanna see?"

"You like old Windows XP-era software? I got that, *and* a burned WinXP CD with the FCKGW CD key!"

The downside of coming from a packrat family is realizing how much excess stuff we have

The upside is I now have stuff that I could share to folks that might find it neat, like fountain pens, or old printers

In case anyone needs it, #Windows Media Player "Legacy" still works on Windows 11, still supports skins from wmpskinsarchive.neocities.org/ and is happily playing #FLAC.

it's fun to have something to tinker with

New on the Secret Area: I decide to do some digital exploring to discover a Jeopardy fan game based on Star Wars that someone submitted to Mobygames, and whether or not I can find it 27 years later.

Another digital dive into the weirder, forgotten side of computer games.

Shares and comments appreciated, as always.

it's fun to have something to tinker with

A few days ago, I was reminded by a friend about Star Wars Jeopardy, a fanmade trivia game by a Star Wars fan.

I'd been trying to find it online, to no avail.

Then I stumbled upon a version of the creator's site through the Wayback Machine, which was a Star Wars fan site. And the game was there to download!

Anyway it's now on the Internet Archive for everyone to enjoy: archive.org/details/starwarsje

A curious CC-0 Wikimedia picture inspires one of the best ramen bowls I've had on the blog to date.
