A friend proposed an extension to the ending that I like: Mazey’s not dead because the bullets weren’t silver. Coroner pronounces her dead and then she revives and stealthily sneaks out to a new, anonymous life, managing her “curse” and living outside the limelight

@mward it had some kind of predictable things to say about how ruinous paparazzi can be, and I was annoyed by how cowardly and self-serving the protagonist was in the end. Like, who is going to believe those photos are real? The same powerful guy who put Mazey up and got her that “doctor” is going to disappear her and the photos pronto. So what’s the point

@mward I appreciate that! I saw the transformation scene before anything else thanks to some like-minded friends, and it was good (if heartbreaking) to see the rest of the episode. She was beautiful.

It can’t be good for my psyche to identify so completely with a type of character who is consistently framed as a gruesome, pitiable tragedy

I saw Mazey Day last night. She was so beautiful. I’m still sad about it this morning.
