I saw something earlier asking if those of us in the US wanted to switch to metric when the boomers were gone. Honestly, yes, but why wait?! Let's just do it! Start using metric and act oblivious as to what imperial units are (except where absolutely required such as when dealing with your medical professionals)! They'll either catch on eventually or die off. Either way, we'll finally be in agreeance with literally *almost every country in the world*

What if we put Luigi's head on top of a Succubus's body!

It'd look something... like this!

@octet33@mastodon.technology Long story short, even if you are actively suicidal, tell you therapist/psychiatrist/psychologist! They can and will help you in the least restrictive way possible! Whether this be meds (suicidal ideation is why I was put on lithium), talking you down, giving you tools to deal with the thoughts, PHP, IOP, or, in the worst case scenario, inpatient, they will do the least restrictive thing that keeps you alive and well.

@octet33@mastodon.technology Another thing to note is that, in cases of involuntary inpatient for suicidal actions, you aren't going to be committed for life or even long periods of time. It will generally be around a week where they try to stabilize you enough to safely discharge you and have you step down to a partial hospitalization program.

@octet33@mastodon.technology Yep! In the US, at least, mental health professionals only go to outside authorities if you're an immediate danger to yourself or others (or in cases of child/elder abuse), and they generally don't want to have to. So even if you are actively planning to kill yourself, they will generally try to talk you down from it, try to convince you to voluntarily go to inpatient if that fails, and only do involuntary inpatient if that fails

everyone really needs to stop calling folks narcissists/sociopaths when the people they're referring to aren't diagnosed and are really just known abusers.

abuse is not inherent with cluster b personality disorders.

science tip: "et al" is pronounced "and friends"

While I've got your attention, I'd also like to remind you to take your meds if you need to, drink some water if you're thirsty, eat if it's been a while or sleep if it's that time where you are. Take care of yourself. I know it's hard, but you deserve it. You are worth every second you spend on self care for no reason other than the fact you are you.

Remember that I love you and want you to be happy and well.

With love,
Kat 💗

Your periodic reminder that white techbros have never created or invented anything of worth, merely stolen the work of the less privileged and turned it into a flaming pile of trash :trashfire:

@Colophonscrawl@yiff.life Well, shit. Guess I better start looking into universities in Seattle, Portland, Boston and Canada. I've only got six months to get this plan figured out.

(Wait. Will the spring semester be over in six months? Hmm...)

Wait. *Goes down rabbithole of actually planning a move to one of those places when she's not actually going to do so (supposedly)*

@em It seems to be like particle physics. We think we know what going on, but at the same time, fuck if we know what's happening. Discovering new particles, figuring out more about how things work. It's the same thing with pokemon, but with seemingly simple creatures instead of sub-subatomic particles

@roxy@snouts.online If it's negatively impacting you, not at all, particularly if they're not hiding it behind CWs. It's setting boundaries, and if that's a boundary you need to set, then set it!
