@raspberry_boy@cybre.space bee movie 2: electric beegaloo

@raspberry_boy@cybre.space intercontinental beellistic missile

it's really hard to try to determine a person's thought processes or general behaviour without starting to think like them. i mean yeah i'm an empathic mimic but still

idk for sure but in my imo the fact that actively seeking knowledge isn't an explicit tenet is intentional. moriel generally values the publicity of knowledge more than the knowledge itself, and their adherents are likely to be knowledge seekers anyway. so that way if they have to compromise on something, the tenets suggest what to do, without otherwise really changing any behaviour whatsoever

and yes, to those paying attention, this isn't a moral framework. ethics has no bearing on any of this, really, unless your ethical system is built around it instead of realistic concerns. don't do this

this is also a big part of why moriel is so scary. and possibly having the power to enforce compliance doesn't help

The tenets of knowledge can be summed up as follows: That one should strive always to advance truth to the full extent of one's capacity. To lie, or otherwise spread untruth is sin; equally sinful is to prevent the spread of truthful information. The practitioner is obligated, should they be aware, to counter any misinformation they find. Perhaps most damning is a refusal to actively encourage the spread of truth. Thus are the tenets of knowledge, and their sins.

sir... it's what we've always feared...

the unions are unionising

@Squiddy ok thats understandable. fair warning that finnish is one of those languages where it's complicated enough at times that i know native speakers who aren't fluent anymore

@GlitterDisaster the "himalayan salt works" name just looks like it's a play on unlimited blade works, that's all

diagnosing your computer, based on what noise it's making

@ItsMorgan 50 metres in one second is p tough for human, iirc. you might have to pick between archery gf and sprinting gf (or just get one of each)

re: queer terminology meta

@myconidiosyncracy well, as you may have seen, some of us express that frustration by making up words for it. which then means there's a zillion words for it and nobody has a common basis of language, but y'know

re: queer terminology meta

@violet @myconidiosyncracy futch scale sorta comes into play here, but that runs into issues because of the tendency to associate the terminology specifically with lesbians to the exclusion of the actual plethora of queer identities that use them

re: queer terminology meta

@myconidiosyncracy personally fond of the stag/fox/swan division for this, but it's not very well-known and still only has so much room for not-a-binary-gender-presentation

re: queer terminology meta

@myconidiosyncracy two sides of the same coin, really. masc enbies being excluded results in treating nb as inherently feminine and vice versa

the distinction doesn't seem to have much functional difference

@AnnieGal@mastodon.social we've seen some very complicated charts about specific labels for things like this but realistically it's more of a 'go with what works, adjust as necessary' approach
