😍 I fell completely in love with a podcast today: http://strongsongspodcast.com/ It's an accessible, technical breakdown of songs that goes into chord progressions, vocal techniques, instrument usage, etc. I've wanted something like this forever.
It's not a podcast that discusses cultural aspects of songs or production, though, so while Toto's "Africa" episode is very, very good, there's only one passing remark about the lyrics of the song. I can get that elsewhere, so that's okay with me, but YMMV.
I've gotten attached to a lot of messy cis people who cause problems for no reason. Then I'm the crazy one because I have normal human reactions to the situations they create. If I try to walk away, I'm being difficult. Cis people are an absolute trip.
I had a cishet ex call me that.
He wound up marrying the next one he dated, having a kid, and divorcing them before he hit twenty three.
Not to gloat, but I'm at least not fucked up as all that drama.
white nonsense, homophobia
It's kinda funny how Europeans pat themselves on the back for not being as racist as Americans, while stealing and whitewashing black American artists.
"European or gay" has become a homophobic joke because they regularly wipe away the queer artists they steal from, too.
Article on how techno has been whitewashed:
As Chicago house producer Derrick Carter lamented last month: “Something that started as a gay black/Latino club music is now sold, shuffled, and packaged as having very little to do with either.”
@Zero_Democracy if every American gets together to rob Jeff Bezos and we all share the spoils equally everyone will become multimillionaire overnight. they can't stop all of us
abuse dynamics
Like...they'll keep badgering you about reconciling or some shit, even tho they've been telling you all along the abuser won't change.
Once you try to get away, they'll be telling you the abuser will change.
Also: the queer erasure that goes on in both sides' of the Atlantic's rewriting of music history. Definitely sucks.
Trans, guy of center, well over 18.
I'm in tech and it feels weird.
