None of these things are important, because the function he serves is to reassure people that the things they feel are rational and that they don't have anything to worry about. This is also why conservative writing often veers explicitly into self-help, both are there to make people feel better

The reason what few conservative intellectuals there are rarely have anything close to a coherent worldview is that the purpose of conservative writing is to create and spread rhetoric which justifies people's biases towards power. The point is not to figure out what to do, or what is happening, or to convince anyone. The point is to keep pushing people in the direction they are already headed for.
