The most iconic form of aragonite is mother of pearl, otherwise known as nacre. This brilliantly iridescent form of aragonite has an intricate microstructure consisting of layers of aragonite crystal tablets sandwiched with organic layers. This produces the complex coloration which makes pearls so valuable.

i think one of the most important aspects of being a white ally is realizing that racism is so deeply integrated into society that just existing as a white person in it means you have racist ideas about stuff. you have to spend your whole life analyzing your thoughts and behavior and recognizing the internalized racism and take active steps to fix it. and it really does take your whole life. ive been learning about this stuff since i was about 12 and i still have a really long way to go. also poc dont owe it to you to explain why certain things are racist. you have access to google, educate yourself. being a good ally takes work and effort but like you gotta do it

As of new year's eve, I will have been without a facebook account for one year.
It's been a largely positive experience. While I've lost contact with a few more distant friends, I no longer have to deal with any of the stupid bullshit that hellforsaken website slams you with. I've also grown closer to the people that matter the most to me, and generally feel like a more whole person.
I highly recommend leaving it as a new year's resolution if you still have an account.
