i think its time for a serious conversation about the direction of this platform. a user directory seems so counter to everything mastodon culture is about, and it's even more a waste of time when weighed against really pressing technical issues, like account migration which wouls allow for true decentralization, or minimizing disk usage consumption. the resolution of these issues would contribute enormously to the long term viability of the fediverse. nobody asked for a user directory
