Web culture can only healthily develop if the space inside the culture on the internet and in peoples minds stays separate from influences that are inherently toxic to the culture we hold

Mastodon is an example of, to me, silos of culture, and similar to the way trees and fungus communicate (there are some awesome things about how trees talk to each other through fungus)

In contrast, facebook and twitter are both taking your body and mind, vacuuming it up, churning it into cash for them, and selling you as you - for free - to other churners, while you scramble to make a living and the vacuum keeps taking away your life you require to feel like you exist
