Stop using #Mailchimp.
Mailchimp (a proprietary mailing list and customer CMS platform) has updated its terms of service.
Mailchimp is planning to feed your email content and customer contacts into its AI models.
Mailchimp's email generating AI might spit out content that infringements on another person's copyright. And the new Mailchimp terms of service say you are legally liable for that copyright infringement, not them.

I've been seeing more and more images posted without alt text around here, and I think that's unfortunate.
So as a PSA: If you're on Mastodon and posting a picture, you can click the "edit" button on the thumbnail to add alt-text with a simple description of the image.
Everyone will be happy if you do! Especially folks with vision issues who use a screenreader, folks on slow connections, and folks who just wanna know wtf they're looking at. You'll get more boosts, too.

Yesterday’s annular eclipse as viewed from a city park on the outskirts of Hondo, #Texas. There was a broad layer of high clouds when we arrived but luckily they broke up & blew away just in time for the main event. Had to get up in the wee hours and drive 225 miles (362 km) west to get right in the center of the path but it was well worth it.
