PSA for anyone using signal groups to organize during protests
tl;dr: please check that both options in settings > privacy > phone number are set to "nobody"
if "who can find me by my number" is "everyone" (the default), signal will reveal the association of your account and number to group members who already know your number, which, considering the possibility of schools collaborating with police and providing student info, may or may not be a plausible way to de-anonymize you!

Right as I was paying for tacos at (Big Chain) a swarm of guys walk in, one specifically has his phone out like he's in a call/facetime, starts yelling at one of the guys making the food
it's funny after the fact because whatever was going on was 1-1 enough that the crowd let me through the only customer exit/entrance
