ya I know of the path of least resistance, if I sense even a little bit of hard work in the path ahead I immediately avoid it

so I used to keep my hair consistently short (pixie cut), but then COVID happened and I started to only get my hair buzzed in the summer to let it grow out until the next summer
I live in a place with cold winters, plus I feel more connected to the cycles of nature, and I get to mess with gender in a fluid way as it grows out
I grew up with long (waist length) hair, in the future I might get a long wig to braid and such, but the middle stage I'm in is my personal least favorite
once again wearing the forbidden pigtails because I'm absolutely fed up with feeling hair on my neck & back
