COVID

so I read on birdsite (via screenshots) that the CDC website says (about COVID risks)

"high risk conditions include mood/mental disorders (i.e. ADHD & depression)"

does anyone know if this info is the same with WHO or other health organizations? :thinkhappy:

wanna get this info verified before I let myself panic 💦

:boost_ok: boosts are okay if you think someone else might have info on this matter, thanks

health/food

starting to think I might have a digestive sensitivity to coconut

Here's another tutorial I made, about 1-bit animation, I still wanna make a game in this style.

ok I've been awake for about an hour, but I finally feel alert enough to do things

awake, had a dream about something annoying, thankfully I've forgotten most of it

as it turns out when you have a new game device on almost max brightness and you mostly play it at night it can give you a headache lol

Since it can be confusing at times to try and find new content:

If you see the name of an instance that looks interesting, like mastodon.art, you can add /public to the end of the URL to see a list of everything being published there without having an account on it. You can even click on a user, click their follow button, and enter the account you want to follow them with (revthwack@starbase80.wtf in my case).

ugh,... I keep getting these overwhelmed-type* headaches around the same time every night :bunhdsad:

*like I'm feeling overstimulated but the headache doesn't go away when I turn down the lights or mute the TV

meta, gratitude, trans folk built this

Caught myself over the last day or so realizing that I had ... grown comfortable ... with the fediverse being so rich with trans folk.

And by comfortable, I mean, very close to taking for granted the people who've done so much to build the fediverse up and make the fediverse work.

With the sudden influx of new people I've realized that if I'm not careful I could--at least for longer stretches of time than would be healthy--forget that and that doing so wouldn't be right.

Amongst the mix of hope and expectation of what good this recent influx might bring, and the technical and social frustrations newcomers also have brought, I began to lose sight of something that was pretty hard to miss on the way here: That trans folk built this, that trans folk keep it running, that trans folk made this in part for trans folk but have been so willing to welcome and share it.

Today’s poem is called ‘An Update to My Privacy Policy’.

reminder to newbies

a lot of masto ppl use screen readers, so accurate image descriptions are crucial, and if your toot is full of repeating emojis you should put that under a CW

reminder to newbies, if the majority of your toot is in caps lock you should probably put that under a CW with "caps lock"

food cw

my latest food discovery is that dairy/lactose free cheese is a lot easier to deal with when you have real wheat noodles (crust or whatever) to go with it 👍

I had the absolute lowest expectations of this Amy's vegan supreme frozen pizza, but it's actually really good??? :pizzablobcat:
