apparently "hootenanny" (of the same context) is even younger at 1940
"festival" and "celebration" seem to be much older at 1580s and 1520s but those still feel relatively young
"ball" is from the 1630s, apparently from French "baller" (🤣)
"gathering" is mid 12th century
"ceremony" is late 14th century
"ritual" (the noun) is 1640s

like ya, it's not terribly interesting as a journal but I still put bits of myself into it every day, lots of little doodles, stickers on the cover
I hope it means something to future people/historians
