re: Photos of me and my face
@ariel Thank you so much! It was a beautiful day and the dress is one I bought last year and hardly wore, but now I'm obsessed with it. It's so soft and comfy.
:boosts_ok_gay: OOTD
@Reborn_Cat_Mom I appreciate that you included alt text so I can say that your outfit sounds so cute! I love dresses with nature patterns.
@sglassmeyer Oh no I'm so sorry to hear this! The loss of an animal is always so rough. I hope you're able to be gentle with yourself and that you have people to lean on. Sending love.
@tessaracked I'm gonna be the president and founding member of the Pat the pocket mouse fan club. I love this so much.
@maritroniuity Wtf what a wild thing to punish you for.

@intransitivelie Thank you! π It was a nice day.

@JustGrist Super impressive considering that I fell asleep slightly before 2:00 and am only just waking up.
@shippychaos Extremely delighted that you chose this instance name. I hope running it goes smoothly for you and provides you with the Masto stability you want.
@stephaniepixie Honestly though! I also frequently forget that not everyone is a leftist, despite living in Oklahoma where I'm literally surrounded by conservatives. The perks of being chronically online.
@ikol Oh this sounds lovely, thank you for the rec! Going to give it a listen in the morning.
@carolski Thank you! I'll give it a try :)
@intransitivelie Thanks for the info! I found it on a list of calming podcasts to listen to if you don't like meditating, or something to that effect, so that's why I included it. It sounds like fun, even if it's not meditative, although there are an overwhelming number of episodes.
Can y'all recommend me some podcasts that are gentle and meditative without being meditation or "inspirational" podcasts? I'm going to try out Slow Radio, Hello From the Magic Tavern, Everything Is Alive, and Imaginary Worlds, but I would love ones that are nature/gardening/farm focused.
I have a particular love for things that are about small, soothing domesticities, if that makes sense. Narrative/conversational/informational are all equally acceptable.
@KaraLG84 Yeah, I do struggle to be active here and also on Twitter, but I have friends there who aren't over here and vise versa.
@Greenseer Your use of alt text is absolutely beneficial. I wouldn't have been able to appreciate or share that post without it, and it's such a nice one that it would be a shame to miss it. I think you're doing a wonderful job so far, and I look forward to seeing how your descriptions might evolve over time. Thank you for making the effort :)
@Fawn@ohai.social @oliphant Yeah this is part of why it sucks so much, because a lot of people are receptive to the request and want to get better at it. I've just experienced enough of the other type of response to be anxious about bringing it up.
It doesn't help that I've spent so much time on Twitter and Facebook, where no matter how much we beg, most people just outright ignore us. It gets exhausting.
@Fawn@ohai.social This is why I don't usually request alt text directly, just post about it on my own account and boost others' reminders to use it. As a blind person who relies on it, I don't want to be annoying about it, which sucks because it shouldn't be annoying to be reminded that you should use it.
Idk who this person is, but they seem like an asshole I'm happy to avoid, even if they do ever use alt text.

I like podcasts and breakfast foods and indie perfumes and twee cottagecore bullshit. I don't post much original #nature #photography #folklore #food #cooking content, but I liberally boost all the above.
