currently conflicted between playing vanilla 1.14 or modded 1.12
I've been playing vanilla 1.14 - it looks so much better, and has so many additions over 1.12 that I just really like.
But I miss lots of things - I miss:
• having more than a couple of types of ores
• lots of interesting devices to construct
• a minimap.
idk what to do, really.
And I'm not really sure which modpack I should play

whelp, I've managed to ruin my brain by doing this.
I was playing a game in 1.14, but decided to try out a 1.12 modpack.
I couldn't stand the modpack due to the lack of many great things from 1.14, and due to the older textures being a lot less pleasant to look at.
I tried switching back to 1.14, but I can't because I feel frustrated about the lack of mods like minimaps and chisels and bits, and the lack of interesting long term stuff to do.

I ended up trying out enigmatica 2 light
and it's good!
• the grass rendering glitch doesn't happen in this pack
• it contains a lot of interesting mods
• it contains a questbook to help you through the mods (although apparently a couple of the quests are broken in the light version, so if your computer can handle the regular version, use that)
• turning on mipmaps made things look so much better.

I've honestly barely used any of the mods yet, because I made the classic mistake of building a really awful looking house in a rush before night time, so I've actually spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to fix it (when I really should have just built a different house and then knocked down the old one)

@lizardsquid it's very easy if you just use the regular launcher
probably as easy with mmc but idk
the problem rn is 1.14 has both Fabric, a good api, and Forge, the old api everyone has made mods for, and you can't have both, obviously, so there's two mod "brands" and there's great mods on both, but not enough to make a good pack on any

@BatElite your rooves are good!!

@lizardsquid aaaa

although: there's definitely something weird with the modpack, because the grass was always the same colour, regardless of biome
