who the heck plays an elder scrolls game and chooses one of the human races???
@mawr @lizardsquid Yush. :3
Khajit has snugs if you have hugs.
@mawr @lizardsquid smh... no love for orcs? everyone love's Schreck (tM)
@lizardsquid Like, honestly, Redguard is the only human race worth playing. Imperials get really bad bonuses, Bretons are way boring, and Nords are worse Redguards. Redguards at least have good martial abilities.
But if you want good martial abilities, play a orc.
Personally I almost always play Dunmer.
@witchfynder_finder neat!
@lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder I feel like I have to experience the Elder At some point, and when I do, I will be a Khajit.
@DialMforMara @lizardsquid The Elder Scrolls is such a weird series cos like. I fuckin love these games. I think they're amazing, I've sunk COUNTLESS hours into them. But at the same time Bethesda doesn't like. Put their games together very well? So it's hard to recommend someone play TES for the first time because they're GOING to hit weird horrible glitches and shit's GOING to break and I almost don't want to subject people to that? But I love the games so much.
@witchfynder_finder @DialMforMara same - I love them so much, but it's impossible for me to recommend anyone to play them because they've all got horrible problems!
my favourite one (morrowind) doesn't even teach you how to play, and so most people get stuck and frustrated within half an hour because they made their character wrong
@lizardsquid @DialMforMara I played Oblivion first and thus Morrowind is forever unplayable to me and I'm REALLY SAD about that!!
@witchfynder_finder @DialMforMara oh no!
@lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder I just want to play the beginning of Skyrim so I don't feel like a bad fan when/if my partner gives me an Amulet of Mara
@DialMforMara @lizardsquid Skyrim is definitely the most accessible TES game and you gotta work a bit harder to find any glitches or bugs of actual note, so it's probably a safe starting point, but Oblivion will always be my first love and part of me hates telling you to start with Skyrim because I'm worried it'll ruin Oblivion for you the way Oblivion ruined Morrowind for me. =P
@lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder I wouldn't worry about that; I have things I'd rather do with my time than play multiple Elder Scrolls games :p
@DialMforMara @lizardsquid Well then you're wrong. =P
I kid, I kid.
@witchfynder_finder @lizardsquid @green I reiterate: the only reason I feel any need to play any Elder Scrolls is that, in the event of @Canageek buying me an Amulet of Mara, I can say "Yeah, I played Skyrim but didn't finish it" instead of making people think I have no business wearing an Amulet of Mara.
@DialMforMara @witchfynder_finder @lizardsquid @Canageek ah, well, that's fair!
@DialMforMara @witchfynder_finder @lizardsquid @green I've been told when I ask Mara to marry me I'm to offer her an amulet of Mara instead of a ring.
Also we'll okay on PC so I can repair bugs with console magic
@Canageek @DialMforMara @lizardsquid @green Console magic and the community patches will make those games infinitely better.
@DialMforMara @lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder Skyrim's glitches are kind of fun, and the gameplay is good, and there's dragons (even if you are the evil dragon-killing "hero"), and if you don't want to play the game there's enough fanfic that you can pretty much experience all the major plot points without ever touching the game itself. ;)
@green @DialMforMara @lizardsquid Dragon-killing is also 100% optional and if you never initiate the main quest the dragons don't even appear so~
@witchfynder_finder @DialMforMara @lizardsquid true! don't go to the tower and fight that first dragon, or just don't go to Dead Man's Barrow or whatever that first dungeon is and bring back the stone. and you can complete the Thieves Guild, Assassins' Guild, Mages' College, Companions, Aedra and Daedra item collection quests without touching the main quest line!
@lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder @DialMforMara I do? One of the human ones gets the best magic bonus, Bretons I think? Best for Battlemage. Kajiti are cool and all, but claws are pretty useless....
@lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder @Canageek then if I play as a Khajit, what class should I take?
@DialMforMara @lizardsquid @witchfynder_finder There aren't classes. The start of the game has you try several playstyles and pick the one you like, and you can switch at any time without starting over.
@lizardsquid I wonder that with most games. It is a pure waste of potential.
@lizardsquid
*raises hand sheepishly*
@ishara D::
@lizardsquid For serious!! Why would anyone want to be a human when they could be an Argonian cutie or a Khajiit snugglefriend? :D
