doctor who, improving my own storytelling (in improv games)

I watched HBomberguy's new video on Dr Who, and I realised what the problem with a lot of my own storytelling is - there either aren't any stakes, the stakes aren't high enough, or the stakes are revealed to be fake.

now I know I'm better than *some* others - I once spent ~245 in an Ars Magicka campaign, where nothing ever went wrong or had any consequence

but this is still an area I need to improve - I need to put characters in situations where either:
* If they don't succeed at <task>, the consequences are awful
* Both choice A and B result in difficult consequences

@Efi yes, and I need to get better at it!

I'm too used to being soft!

@lizardsquid try this: side with the antagonists, be soft with them, let them win and acheive their goals =P
