The Voynich manuscript has been decoded. Turns out it's an early draft of My Immortal.

@theZacAttacks@cybre.space yeah! I'm planning on trying it out once I get my spare desktop computer hooked up to the internet

@ccolocho I kinda stopped hopping as much when I switched to nixos, because being able to just copy my config file onto a different computer and type 'nixos install' to just get an identical machine is just so useful to me

@ccolocho real linux users spend 15 hours rewriting chunks of the DWM c file

@ccolocho I'm still distrohopping, kinda? But I'm mostly using the more customisable distros (nixos, dragonflyBSD, arch), so my checklist is:

* make the computer work
* install a bunch of weird window managers
* install emacs

@galaxgal@dev.glitch.social depends... what do you mean by hackable?

@Elizafox HURD is amazing in theory, but when I used it, it didn't feel like anything more than an unfinished linux distro

@Elizafox I'm gonna install Gnu Guix ontop of a HURD instance spread across a networked supercomputer of 300 raspberry pis

@Elizafox "Actually, while it's technically less efficient, Windows Vista better maps onto human neurons and so is superior for ..."

I guess it is early morning for a lot of the people in the group, though...

I posted a draft of something I spent a lot of time on to a group I'm in, and nobody responded at all...

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz especially since a lot of older games aren't even owned by the devs anymore!

I'm just thinking about the recent dr who series (like, all of it, since the 9th dr) and realising that Donna was the only companion who was treated well *at all* by the writers.

LB: those are my thoughts - if it could be made equitable, opt-in, and themed, rather than based on popularity metrics, recommendations would be cool!

if follow reqs were opt-in and you could submit yourself to several themed pools (art, tech, wizardry, sex work, frogs, etc) and it was totally random or favoured people with fewer followers, never showed you people you blocked or muted, etc, that'd be cool
