tabletop game design idea

@vahnj this sounds really cool!

Have you considered using a talent system instead of a skill system? (Where players come up with their own talents like "bows and arrows" or "geography", and if they can justify a talent as being relevant to a roll ("I'm shooting an arrow, so I get my bows talent" or "I'm surveying the landscape so I get geography") they get a *flat* bonus to their roll)

@typhlosion I can't believe she would do this, now _ _ express myself in the way _ want!

@dzuk@a.weirder.earth @tom yep!

to a certain extent that's ok because it means that older games don't need to be patched to support it, but it should ALSO be able to be accessed directly!!!

@dzuk@a.weirder.earth @tom it frustrates me so much because I love how the steam controller feels to use!!!!

but it's stuck in this walled off land that valve has made and it sucks!!!

really experimental music

this one is a piece based around the idea of a canon, where you have each part playing the same melody, but starting at a different point/being slower/etc

except... the starting points and speeds in this aren't based around barlines like they are traditionally! here they're based around complicated fractions and ratios:

@lizardsquid youtube.com/watch?v=Cb3eLFjWTl Have you seen this one? (reposted because this one is on an actual player piano which is Better™)

@lizardsquid youtube.com/watch?v=IcQH62kkLb Also this one is just plain fun

Alkan is an underrated composer. Perpetually overshadowed by his more successful contemporary Liszt.

here's an arrangement of one of the most incredibly impossible pieces for player piano: youtube.com/watch?v=FUVc9lDYsN
