I want to make a let's play series called "Avery Plays Averything", where I play through every game in my steam + gog + itchio library

it's mostly just an excuse to finish all the games I haven't finished

keyboard shortcut confusion

the sequence of keys to open a CW: fjkh
the sequence of keys to fav a post: if<esc>

these both have f at the beginning

I've gotten confused several times now

why do people dislike CSS?

I find it kinda nice to be able to just change the style of an entire *kind of thing* on my site/in my documents

I'm in a roguelike mood, but can't afford either of the roguelikes I want to play (cogmind, sunless sea)

what should I play?

Quasi-Compulsory Sexuality in Communities [1]

There's been some conversation on the subject of sexuality in (primarily queer) communities; the tendency for folks meeting each other to follow this script over a short span of time:

1) Get to know someone
2) Cuddle with them
3) Have sex with them

This script is pretty well ingrained for many in the communities I've been part of, and on the surface there's nothing wrong with it, but it causes problems I feel should be more broadly discussed.

im here 2 remind u that i have a web 1.0 forum full of cool people but it happens to be missing someone cool: you, probably

come say hi

jul.rustedlogic.net/

gosh why am I so tired

going to sleep, I guess!!!

love you - remember to have a good day aand remember that I love you

short horror story

you draw from the tarot deck today and realize the face on the card is looking at you. they don't do that.

you draw another card. it isn't an actual card. it's the same face. instead the card's text says "I KNOW"

you go to draw the third card, sweating. you've never stopped on a bad draw before, this isn't going to stop you.

the card you draw says,

Ḭ̵͉̺̽͗͝'̵̲̭͚͆͌̚M̶̡̤̹̿̔͗ ̸̝̻̻͐̑̒H̸̢̱͕͌͆͛Ȇ̵͖͍̞́͠R̷̼̜̞̾̅̄Ḛ̵̡̧̌̄͐

I wish it were easier to express the difference between

"I don't like to look at ads because they annoy me"

and

"I'm terrified of what the advertising-driven web is doing to the balance between user privacy and the insatiable corporate hunger for more eyeballs"

worldbuilding, a map

I drew out the map of the lands for the fantasy world I'm creating

I haven't got many details of the cultures or anything yet, but now I have this map I can more easily work things out.

Each hex in the map is ~250km across, meaning that this map has a total area of

(34 × 250) × (25 × 250) = 53,125,000 km²

which is around the size of Eurasia (assuming I did the maths correctly)
