Game of the Month 1b — deciding

The next random letter is G, so my options are:

Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Gothic
Gone Home
GoNNER
Grow Home
Gravity Rush

and Gunpoint, which I've already completed once.

I think I'm going to play GoNNER, but if anyone has any specific recommendations of the others, go ahead!

Game of the Month 1b — deciding

The second random letter is U, so my only option is Undertale

I nearly completed it once, back when it was popular. but got sick of how the game played before I actually got to the end – I didn't really care for the walking around sections, and I found the bullet hell combat to be boring and frustrating.

Undertale isn't bad, but it's just not the kind of game I enjoy, so I'll put it off until later in this endeavor once I've gotten used to playing games again.

Game of the Month 1a — Alan Wake's American Nightmare

I finished American Nightmare!

I enjoyed it, and the story took some interesting paths that I wasn't quite expecting, despite otherwise being cheesy.

Did you know? The term "boycott" originates from a successful Irish effort in the 19th century to shun this rich guy named Boycott who was trying to evict rural tenant farmers. No one would work for him, sell him stuff, or even deliver his mail. Ultimately he failed to make a profit from the farmland he owned, and his name is now a part of history :)

New Years Resolution failure, the plus side [Game of the Month]

However, I've come up with a new thing to do: each month, I'm going to try to complete a random game from my collection of games. Most of the games I own are uncompleted, and I want to see if I can fix that.

This month's game is Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

New Years Resolution failure, mental health

I've recorded my failure to succeed at my New Year's Resolution.

It seemed like a good resolution. I had everything planned out – I only needed to spend half an hour on each of the 4 things I care about.

And yet... I couldn't even do that. So instead, I'm going to be seeking help, because there's clearly something wrong with me if I can't even do 2 hours of work on the things I love.

[Doctor Who] audio dramas | Bernice Summerfield, money

I think I'm going to get it.

Worst case: I don't listen to The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield until I get up to them in my listening order, and by that time (in the distant future) they're discounted to this price already.

(and I have some spare money right now – I set aside some money over the past few months to get a Thing™, and then didn't get the thing.)

question for UK people

if you go to this page: bigfinish.com/news/v/happy-bir and scroll down to the bottom, you'll see a line that says:

King Lear is on special offer now at just <Amount 1> on CD or <Amount 2> on download.

what do these amounts display as for you?

[Doctor Who] audio dramas | Bernice Summerfield, money

Walking to Babylon is good, and (the first half of) Birthright is good too.

This was a good choice.

But now I have to make another choice: The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield, a 2014 follow up series, is currently on sale.

So I have to choose: do I spend $50 now, and get audio dramas from 15 years after what I'm currently listening to, or do I wait and spend $95 on them when I get to that point in the series?
