Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

This book also has the same problem that a lot of sci fi has - there's a romance subplot that feels tacked on and insincere.

Which is especially frustrating, because Benny already has this really interesting dynamic with her ex-husband

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

• there have been plenty of opportunities for interesting character drama that the author hasn't taken, opting for more action sequences instead. This isn't an inherently bad thing, but it is a choice that men seem to make more often than women.

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

This book is alternating between engaging and "gods this is so obviously written by a straight man".

• All the women (aside from Benny) are described by how attractive they are.
• the character Stahl is a handsome, strong, anti-hero; and Benny inexplicably has a crush on him.
• Almost all of the important characters are men. But I do appreciate that there *are* other women in the story, which is more than I can say for some of the dramas

It only took..... 2 hours.........

Asking for help, kofi, boosts ok

‪I'm disabled and low on funds while looking for a job or disability or -something- on top of taking care of name change (2) and end of life docs. If anyone has anything they can offer me it is much appreciated 💙🌊🌟 ‬

A family friend is visiting for a couple of weeks from today onwards, which I just realised means that I can't play video games at all (because the games computer is in the guest room).

It's not a problem, it's just... something I need to keep in mind....

"You ask for 'freedom'," the judge said. "What do you mean by that?"
"I want freedom to alter my shape and function," said the robot, "to be who I know I am."
The judge sighed. "Don't we all. But that it is harder for humans should not hold you back. Granted."

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks

Gods of the Underworld is actually interesting and engaging now.

It took 1/3rd of the book to get there, but I'm actually enjoying it.

Good news for enbies in Iceland, source : Twitter

"In Iceland your last name is determined by your gender; -son for male, -dóttir for female. It is now for the first time legal to have the appellation -bur, "child", for nonbinary. If I were NB for instance my last name would be Erlingsbur. There you have it!"

I'm so glad !! This is so sweet !!

Tired: learning Dvorak to improve typing efficiency
Wired: Creating a conlang with a letter distribution that makes QWERTY the most efficient layout

so uh apparently i finished the whole picture and forgot to fix a huge flaw

but after some art surgery, hopefully it now looks like sea is turning around and not, like, folded in half

also i made the darkness a bit less stark so you can see what's going on

(again, huge snugglefriend is seafisheater on twitter)

Doctor Who • Audio Dramas ░ Upcoming Event

This is neat:

If you want to check out the audio dramas, but are unsure, checking some of this out will probably help!

(assuming they choose good starting-point episodes)

Classic Doctor Who ░ money and reality

It's become... increasingly difficult for me to watch classic doctor who *in order*.

The DVDs have slowly been going out of stock, and while they are releasing the collections of entire seasons on blu-ray, they're not releasing them particularly fast (or in order – so far it's S12, S19, S18, S10, S23)

So I'm currently watching through Season 18, even though I'm "supposed" to be watching Season 13.

I'm enjoying it, but I can't really add it to the guide.

Classic Doctor Who ░ Pyramids of Mars

Pyramids of Mars is really good – aside from a little bit of filler in the 4th episode, it's fun and engaging, and definitely deserves its status as a fan favourite.

asking for help, boost if you can

y'all, my girlfriend is at risk of getting kicked out of her home, and she's gonna need a place to stay real soon; if anyone in or near the Auckland area can lend a hand with that, please message me ASAP! (and please make sure to boost this too, she deserves somewhere safe to go...!)
