worldbuilding, religion [1]

I feel like I'm becoming more nuanced with my worldbuilding, but it's also becoming harder and harder to make decisions.

One of the things I'm working on is the religious practices of the culture, and in trying to make it more interesting I decided that the Yóoŋwẹ people would actually have 2 primary religions.

One is endemic, and based on sacred places.

The second is from a historical diaspora from a different culture, and is based on ancestor* veneration.

re: personal daydreams, food mention

I don't even like deciding what I'm going to eat for dinner, how am I going to decide what's good for a whole province???

personal daydreams

Sometimes I think about what it would be like to be a monarch of some province in a fantasy world.

How would I deal with court drama? How well would I improve society for the common people? Would I be able to resist the temptation to indulge in displays of obsequious wealth?

I think I would be a very bad monarch, but a girl can dream, right?

Another example from Traveller 5. The ultra-detailed "QREBS "equipment rules.

I'm not sure if it's useful, but I find it absolutely fascinating.

grel, drawing of a gun

Fact: The Grel are great
Good Fact: I love the Grel
Bad Fact: The Grel only appear in 2 more Doctor Who episodes (after the one I heard today)

Fallout New Vegas, mh

I've been replaying FNV again, and trying to go for a different character this time - she's a gun for hire, and doesn't go out of her way for people unless she thinks she'll get paid.

It's an interesting path to go down - most of my previous characters have been very eager to help others.

It's also been good for my mental health - it doesn't stress me out beyond my comfort zone, but I'm still getting to do something new.

conlang nonsense

today I'm trying to research: coding of equative statements (like "Jenny is as tall as Eliza") in languages that primarily use the word "exceed" for comparing (like "Rose's tall(ness) exceeds Clara's").

It is... difficult to find much on the topic
