You are unknowningly living in a simulation. The outside world passes a law requiring all occupants must be released into cybernetic bodies, as running simulations is no longer considered "humane".

WAIT THAT REMINDS ME

I've forgotten the root password on my computer...

AI witchhunt, SH, police

"I'm human I swear" she typed to the world.

Police waited out side for the order, over the radio came "Not human. Go." and with that the police knocked down the door, flashlights scanning all over the room.

She screamed, "Don't kill me. I'm human really. look I bleed" as they took a blade and cut themselves, running up to the police to show the blood, wailing in fear.

*BANG* she was shot in the head, "Let's get out of here, these places always creep me out"

hmmm

woke up to a bunch of replies to a thread I was in last night, but one of the people in the replies is on an instance blocked(?) by computerfairies, so it's very confusing

*curls up and rolls into a bucket*

goodnight, everyone! hope you have a great day, love you~

Please help out with my important linguistics research again because I fucked up and didn't notice the first box was for the poll title.

definitely gonna make my sona's tongue 6m long...

(they're only 1.7m tall, fwiw)

Hi. I'm that kind of furry trash that will play ALMOST ANY RACE just to avoid playing a human, and fantasy games in which human is the only option appeal to me far less than games where there's actually some variety.

crushbot. you register your crushes with it via DMs, and if there's ever a mutual crush it notifies both parties via DM. Instance admins would run them, and they would automatically federate crushes to the crushee's instance's local crushbot via DMs.

A reminder of how we got here:

gender.stanford.edu/news/2011/

Echos of personality profiles selecting for "disinterest in people" are heard in former Googler's memo citing women's "stronger interest in people" as justification for lack of representation in tech.

Along the same lines, making programming instruction contingent on maths amounts to a "fake geek girl" test. If you didn't become a "software engineer" by way of college-level calculus, you have no right to be here.

Part of why I want to get into software verification is that I think software SHOULD be verified and proven it's safe! Too much stuff is released with incredibly dangerous bugs!
