mastodon put community moderation power in the hands of many people who are not ready for such power and we have been paying the price for it since the 2017 influxes

you know how removing most context from any sort of declaration can open things to extremely harmful interpretations?

now consider how fractured any communication is on the #fediverse where you can barely even see all replies to a post, let alone all previous posts if only a specific one from an account was fetched

your instance only sees the posts from an account if they're fetched

and generally speaking it'll only fetch all posts if someone followed that account
