@thelastpsion you're in the UK! unfortunately Cambridge isn't doable to us but if for any reason you find yourself somewhere in the southwest let's grab a pint

I'm not listed (yet), but I'm going to be showing off the not-disassembled items in my #Psion collection on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November at the Retro Computer Festival.

I'll also have that #HaikuOS netbook running #MAME for you to try out a few classic #EPOC16 apps and games without risk of breaking the hardware. (Yes, there was a real point to that project!)

If you can get to Cambridge that weekend, come say hi!

@bodger oh !!!!

(i've composed as a hobby since 2007 and i don't know a lick of music theory)

@arielmt (contextualizing, of course, that the iconolog's body of work is not at all suitable for text searching and this was a band-aid to make it work a little better with it)

@arielmt RNG is precisely how i do it with @\iconolog in an attempt that you don't get the same icon twice for the same search: i do a fuzzy match for filenames and categories from your query, then shuffle the top matches above a certain threshold

kinda want an msx2+ but also at this point i might as well waste my money on a mister fpga instead of chasing retro hardware

@wildweasel @nackaimlat@furry.engineer caveat: because of drama dating back to 2017 some popular (derogative) instances have defederated from computerfairi.es. so, some people might not reach you. but for me today it's still a healthy network, imo

@wildweasel @nackaimlat@furry.engineer it's invite-only, either you or me can freely make an invite iirc

I wanted a bloody mary...

I didn't have tomato juice... but I had instant tomato soup powder...
I didn't have a celery to garnish... but I had a hot dog...

really good article about alexithymia as a response to trauma rather than an inherent neurological trait

(cw mentions sui, abuse, CSA)

"A big percentage of so-called experts today only know how to configure some kind of hype-tool, but they understand nothing about how things work at the deeper level. This is a real challenge and a problem for the future."

"It's a great day for golf, and there's no place like Pebble Beach!"

CGA portrait commission of Craig "The Walrus" Stadler for @wildweasel !
