240ml whole milk
50ml cooking oil
500g sour cassava starch

mix all liquids then slowly mix solids in until you form a dough, then bake little balls on trays for 30-40 minutes in an over preheated to 200c

I don’t think developers truly appreciate the fragility of software until their first run-in with an obscure file format for which the only converter in existence was written by one guy in college in 2003 and released as source only with no comments and requires applying a patch to a library to compile, but it’s not for a release version, oh no, it’s for a very specific SVN revision from a long dead server

Even though old software has not changed, new software has introduced faster, more efficient workflows at the cost of the speed of the software itself. The knowledge and tools to even produce software that uses a few megabytes of RAM is, in practice, lost. We can produce better tools but we cannot produce them for the computers that would benefit most from them. #RetroComputing

@trishalynn Mastodon is one implementation of the activitypub specification

think of it like the Google Chrome of the fediverse, not all other fediverse instances are running it and there's some interop pains

"mastodon" in of itself isn't the network or even the only protocol in it, but it got a lot of press and VC money so it sounds like it is

@trishalynn it wasn't introduced until like version 4 i believe

i've been here much longer than that and the glitchsoc computer fairies runs is currently based on 3.5.x i believe

(letting go of a ball onto the ground) 🎶 feliz gravedad, feliz gravedad

one of the mad things about the internet is how you get someone making a living from doing something and then theres 50 other people next to them doing literally the exact same thing just as well and not even getting any attention or appreciation let alone money

well that was a short search once i had a better picture!!!

seen in the background of The Expanse S6 E1. i don't think it's a made up prop, i think it's a piece of hifi/video equipment turned prop. makes me think of technics vhs pcm audio recorder, but might be regular cassette instead. bottom bright spots are VU meters maybe?

re: Star Trek (guess I like this show now)

@JordiGH given it started in 1988 yeah it's still fairly conservative as far as that goes, DS9 is where funny things start with garak/bashir and jadzia dax's previous host being male, but you don't get really outspoken queer rep until discovery and strange new worlds
