@greg AVR has kinda been superseded in the maker circles for ESP32s and Pi Picos, like other have said here i can vouch for the Pico being a joy to program for and having plenty of IO

i now have Stefan's basic running on the gizmo with full graphic capabilities of the monochrome 128x64 display and implemented a FatFSUSB driver so i can save files and transfer them to a computer

@vyr there are 3 different formats these use, one for the grayscale images (either 1 or 2), another for the eyemodule1 color images and another for the eyemodule2 color images
