kate pulaski did nothing wrong and lower decks should've brought diana muldaur back

is anyone really convinced that the "we should slow down ai development" is anything but a face-saving for not actually having anything to show for it and building up a preemptive excuse

In 1980, Intel introduced the 8087 floating-point coprocessor chip. Plugging this chip into your IBM PC made math 100 times faster, good for CAD and spreadsheets. I opened up the chip to reverse-engineer exactly how it does complicated calculations. Let's take a look inside...

@arielmt i wanted to reply "SYN-ACK" but the more appropriate reply would be "ACK" and i don't know if a toot consisting only of "ACK" would parse without context

the AI is very good at logic, except that if you feed it a mild, original variation of a logic puzzle it fucks it up entirely in a way that instantly reveals it’s only regurgitating answers from its training data. and this is such a problem for the AI corps that they’ll scrape your variation into their training data too and make very certain the AI outputs the right answer, so it looks like they fixed the AI until you try another variation on the same puzzle.

the AI can finally spell strawberry! specifically. with a really long, weirdly angry answer. because they special cased it in the latest model, and it’s literally just outputting a rant from some anthropic asshole.

@jk i can't tell if i also vaguely remember it or if now i just remember your post about it

i have the beginning of an arcade game idea and i'll try to make it with quickbasic 4.5 for the ms tres dos game jam
