oh shit lmao i just popped open the harvest moon ds cute rom in a filebrowser tool, and uhhhhh, they shipped this game with a file named 'Desktop_.ini' in every folder, which has the text '2007-6-25' in it.

according to google, this file is dropped by a bit of malware called 'Fujacks' (see: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?Name=Virus%3AWin32%2FFujacks.D ), meaning that whoever built the rom that they shipped did it on a computer infected with this virus.

1 AM. I cannot sleep. Went looking for cursed content on the internet. Succeeded harder than I intended to. Now I still can't sleep, but for a different reason.

Over the last several days Stefan Torto has posted on YouTube multiple videos in which he is playing synthesizers on this table, with the camera on the exact same position and the cat in his lap. From this I conclude that sometime three or four days ago Stefan's cat sat in his lap and he has been sitting in that chair the entire time since then, unwilling to dislodge the cat to stand up, with nothing to do except create electronic music with the handful of synthesizers that happen to be in reach

Someone should remove the ball gag from RISC-V designers before you let them name extensions...

Hello hello! We made the first release candidate for version 0.11.0 of #GoToSocial

Highlights for this release candidate:

• #Hashtags! Finally, hashtags federate in and out of GoToSocial as they should, and you can view timelines of hashtagged posts in your client app of choice.
• Account notes! You can now set, view, and unset your own private notes on accounts.
• Lots of performance stuff: we tweaked our cacheing configuration, increased the amount of concurrent database connections that sqlite can use, and more. Things oughta feel a teensy bit faster :)
• Bug fixes, bug squashes, bug err... obliterations.
• Probably some new bugs for you to enjoy.
