So I picked up this absolute wreck of a PowerMac 8500/120 off of eBay last week.
Seller said it “chimes, no video” which sounded like a reasonable problem for me to diagnose and fix.
Took it all apart, inspected the motherboard — looked 100% pristine — reseated all the memory, and plugged in power, keyboard, Mac->VGA video dongle, and a BlueSCSI, and wouldn’t you know it… it fired right up.
Also, not stock! Has a 604e/233 card in it!

i know it's been a while but i remain utterly baffled by the (not particularly even that high) popularity of coding LLMs.
when i have to solve a coding problem, i just think about it and then type some code. this has worked very well for me my entire career before chatbots were even a thing. i get a good result from doing this because unlike a chatbot, i'm actually quite good at programming.
why do we want to give that up again?
