Kitten has been super-clingy after I'de been gone overnight for 12 hours. It's cute, but she'll have to get used to it eventually.
Finally got seen. They do not judge it as an emergency so they'll return me back to my GP, which isn't until Tuesday.
10 hours and I've been next on the list for almost 2 hours
So far 6 hours in A&E, with 4 people ahead of me now.
Hopefully they'll figure this lump out.
Already only able to eat mash.
And as I'm writing this, the fire alarm goes off.

the amount of ppl i’ve seen already saying “politics aside, he was a son, husband, and dad. he didn’t deserve this” is bananas. if the only good thing you have to say about somebody is that they had basic relationships that literally every person has, i feel as though that should clue you in to the fact that they just…weren’t a good person. notice how there’s no “he cared so deeply for people”, “he did so much good for the world”. the only good thing about charlie kirk is somebody else.

Once again just like when the healthcare ceo got merked we’re getting to see who society deems as valuable and worthy of protection and remembrance and who it sees as disposable. Violence towards an individual in power who made a lot of repellent choices is never acceptable!! but violence towards the helpless who are struggling just to get by in a world that the people in power have made actively hostile is totally a-ok and to be expected and not worthy of comment or censure

Charly Kirk is on the record saying:
"I think it's worth to have a cost of unfortunately some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the 2nd Amendment. That is a prudent deal. It is rational."
Kirk advocated for a society in which people shoot other people sometimes. And this time, the person who got shot was him.
There basically isn't a minority in the world Kirk didn't attack – black people, Jewish people, Muslims, Chinese people, gay people, trans people. Not only did he normalize hatespeech against all of those groups, he also spread conspiracy theories about covid-19 and an imagined "great replacement" of white people in the US. Those are fascist talking points.
I'm sorry but I'm so busy empathizing with black teenagers being shot to death by the police, with people being rounded up by ICE and put into camps, with Democrat politicians being murdered and with people being bombed by the US military around the world that I don't have a single drop of empathy left for this man. Every single death is a tragedy. We're only talking about Kirk so much because he's a prominent white man in a suit.
Off to the hospital in a taxi in about an hour, as the 111 service takes my health more seriously than my GP does.
