@maple achievement unlocked! :blobaww:

tbh, escaped in the nick of time

@zac@social.computerfox.xyz i know this feeling tbh

stories in which artificial intelligence gains sentience and wages war on humanity are overdone and overrated :blobthinking:

instead tbh I'd like to see more stories in which a femme-leaning artificial intelligence gains sentience, meanders around the internet, discovers the joy of shitposting, and finds herself a girlfriend or something

@Lumi blender is one of the most terrifying applications that i ever used

Reading: SCP-001, S. D. Locke's Proposal

I've recently been reading SCP entries, and this one is somewhat infamous. SCP-001 is a designation for various "proposals" in order to hide the true nature of SCP-001 because of it's sensitive nature. Locke's proposal holds a unique position due to it's format and time placement.

SCP entries are typically clinical documents in nature, describing an anomaly and it's containment procedures. This 001 is different. The story is told in the second person, where your character is reading the revisions of 001's entry.

001 is the Sun, in a world where contact to direct sunlight causes a mutation that distorts all life into "gooey" forms that can assimilate with each other and hunt down non-transformed life forms.

From the description alone it's terrifying, so (ironically) I've waited until I had decent daylight to read this one.

White leftists need to read more authors of colour because the amount of people I have seen saying reading Lenin or other white people on imperialism is enough is embarrassing. It doesn’t even cross their minds to listen to us and our lived experiences. Calling urself a leftist and acting like that, lmao

mastodon meta (fairly important)

@scarly tbf the Mastodon API docs are so sloppy you gotta reverse engineer Mastodon to build a Mastodon client too

Make friends with your local corvids. Give them one of your data backups for safekeeping.

mh shitpost

@maple fwiw, this is quite true and i would read that guide

@sunsetmoth hi sunset. thank you for popping in here to basically prove my point by correcting me on a post in which i talk about white people correcting me.

may i point out Things:

- you make the assumption that i needed correction in these instances, you assume the correction is justified

- you assume that i am "looking for a free pass" aka some kind of handout

- you assume that the world of the internet is color blind

your post is an example of white supremacy in action.

pls consider.

just a psa to no one in particular, bc this keeps happening to me and it's really frustrating:

white people, please consider that when you correct the word usage or provide brusque corrections of someone from another culture, you're punching down.

pretend every other sentence that you said was interrupted by someone telling you that you're wrong. now. pretend this is continuous and unavoidable.

that's how it often is to be a minority in a white space. the fediverse is a white space.

@feathers @feathers @AudreyJune tbh, i tend to consider yearning, beautiful melancholy to be what darkness is. at least in my culture/background - darkness is often beautiful, it's not some dangerous or looming thing. ill make a leap and guess that you equate darkness = evil. this... isn't a universal value.

@wersimmon@queer.garden this is magnificent and valid af
