@squirrel I bookmarked this site for that purpose: txtn.us/text-fullwidth
If I'm feeling too lazy to open the bookmark, I also edited the bookmark description to have the alphabet in full-width, but I wouldn't recommend *that* to others :V

@squirrel Fellow web designer here agreeing with you. In my experience, JS isn't so great for mobile platforms, not to mention those who might disable it on any device to improve loading times and security. Bells and whistles don't always make things better; oftentimes they just bloat the page size and make it a slower load. If your website(/game/app/etc) doesn't display properly for most -- if not all -- users, that's bad coding.

I think we all missed the real headline from yesterday which is that Zuck somehow figured out how to walk around in public with a Snapchat filter over his face

it was rhetorical, but yeah, i can see where you're coming from. unfortunately for them, doxing me would lead them straight to my ceramic art studio, where i mail my pieces from. they can buy my sculptures instead :p not that i think I'd ever do anything dox-worthy anyway...

A Landslide of Classic Art Is About to Enter the Public Domain

About freaking time, even if it’s just going to be a year at a time. Still!

thinling about internet arguments

why do people in internet arguments feel the need to throw around others' dox...? it's irrelevant and an ad hominem, not to mention how it's rude at BEST

i heard that adobe has a solid date that they're gonna drop the adobe flash plugin by, but i gotta wonder, what exactly is a site like neopets (yes, they still use flash after 20 years) going to do about that...? :blobthonkang:

Arguing with transphobes reminds me of Wendy Cope's great poem, "He Tells Her":

He tells her that the Earth is flat—
He knows the facts, and that is that.
In altercations fierce and long
She tries her best to prove him wrong.
But he has learned to argue well.
He calls her arguments unsound
And often asks her not to yell.
She cannot win. He stands his ground.

The planet goes on being round.

Favorites(/Likes/+1s/etc.) on social media posts were originally intended to give non-verbal positive feedback to the poster.

Then people starting using them as makeshift bookmarks, so they could review them later. (You couldn't originally view your Favorited posts on Twitter; it wasn't until 3rd-party apps started keeping track that Twitter added it in the main site.)

Now I'm seeing people baffled that people use Favs to give feedback, since they're "supposed to" be for bookmarking. o_o
