@squirrel @zangetsu_MG you are supposed to realize that saying "I only care about their performance" opens the door for discrimination, because bias is often invisible to the people judging performance, and so history demonstrates that when presented with a white cishet man who's done X and someone who's not a white cishet man - on any axis - who's done an identical X, people will judge the white cishet man's X to be better than the competition.

@zangetsu_MG @squirrel you are supposed to realize that people who are not cishet white men are not well-represented in the history of computing, and that the farther the distance from "cishet white man", the less representation they get - and that this lack of representation is not proportionate to the percentage of the general population which they compose.
