has nobody with an openwrt router needed nat loopback in 3 years ????

Show thread

ah so this is why nat loopback doesn't work dev.openwrt.org/ticket/18057

3 years old and still no fix, lovely

it sucks too because i just finally got nextcloud to do what i want but it's absolutely atrocious on the hardware

Show thread

ok now i can't load anything anymore and i'm right next to the server

people who complain about mastodon performance should take a look at nextcloud

Show thread

i think it's working now?

skynet.mynameiser.in:8384/inde

but nextcloud is extremely slow to load fsr and i still need to set up https if at all possible

@popefucker@cybre.space @chr@cybre.space i can run an http server on anything but port 80 and i already changed that

my issue now is just that nextcloud doesn't like being 192.168.1.64 and skynet.mynameiser.in at the same time

so is there a way to get nextcloud to play nice with not being in a LAN? it wants to use localhost for anyone i give a public link to

@popefucker@cybre.space @chr@cybre.space i don't want to tell random people to install a vpn every time i want to post a link on the internet

have you ever used dropbox?

@popefucker@cybre.space @chr@cybre.space i dont know what you're asking

my isp gives me a dynamic ip and blocks ports 80 and 443 because non-enterprise plans cannot host webpages

@chr@cybre.space @popefucker@cybre.space plus it seems incredibly slow to render pages

@popefucker@cybre.space @chr@cybre.space so far terribly, and somewhat due to the fact i have a dynamic ip address without the ability to use port 80 or proper ssl certificates

@popefucker@cybre.space @chr@cybre.space i'm just trying nextcloud now

@chr@cybre.space @popefucker@cybre.space oh, yes

nextcloud apparently does this and against my better judgement i'm trying it now but it also seems to be an immense resource hog that won't play well with having a modded minecraft server on the same box

@chr@cybre.space @popefucker@cybre.space i can't see how anything of what i want is filesystem integration? the only integration i want is on clients to be able to right click a file and click a context menu that says copy link and then i can paste a public link to friends

what dropbox does

@popefucker@cybre.space yes i could and i'm avoiding this because i got used to dropbox

@popefucker@cybre.space none of this is a solution to what i want but thank you for trying

@popefucker@cybre.space publish? i want to replace dropbox and be able to share public links over the internet to specific files to friends

i want a local dropbox
