though honestly i think i doubt that the issue is a single capacitor failure and without an oscilloscope and a thorough study of the pcb, i probably won't find the real issue with the psu

Show thread

i already bought a new psu

... should i try repairing the old one anyway..?

by repairing i mean replacing that one capacitor i'm doubtful on, i have a good equivalent replacement

w-what's the worst that could happen ha ha ha (it could blow up)

i mean not really because this psu seems to have good fault protection and i don't think one replaced capacitor will change that

i appreciate every single one of you who reply to my toots that are just

"hi"

i took a nap with my cat on my belly it was very good

got myself all dressed up to leave for a single class which would be shorter than the time it would've taken me to go to uni and back

and then i saw this forecast

i'm staying home computerfairi.es/media/595Ch8A

gross

oh i love the feeling of stomach acid in my throat nearly throwing up

what compels someone to make someone else feel bad to the point of suicidal thoughts and then keep going further instead of apologizing?

sounds pathological

not everyone that has an iphone is rich

not everyone that has a 2013 macbook in 2017 is rich

poor people are allowed to have nice things

it doesn't make them rich

fuck right off

mac os has been the go to for music production since the 90s

you can get Macintosh computers that do audio tasks used for very cheap

some studios even still use powerpcs

Linux won't take it's place in audio production so chill out with your preaching

don't fucking try to convert people to Linux like it's a god damn religion, keep it to yourself

who the hell even suggests Linux for real-time audio applications?

just, don't

so the 500w psu can stil post an older system, a pentium dual core, but it can't post the ryzen

i don't know if the psu went bad and can't give enough current and that's why it won't turn on anymore or if the mobo/cpu crapped themselves out...

ugh, so stressful

psu confirmed bad now, i can't get it to come on by itself by shorting ps_on to gnd at all

can't tell if that cap in the middle is leaked or if that's just thermal gunk. doesn't look bulged computerfairi.es/media/UZXUrDy
