though honestly i think i doubt that the issue is a single capacitor failure and without an oscilloscope and a thorough study of the pcb, i probably won't find the real issue with the psu
i already bought a new psu
... should i try repairing the old one anyway..?
by repairing i mean replacing that one capacitor i'm doubtful on, i have a good equivalent replacement
w-what's the worst that could happen ha ha ha (it could blow up)
i mean not really because this psu seems to have good fault protection and i don't think one replaced capacitor will change that
got myself all dressed up to leave for a single class which would be shorter than the time it would've taken me to go to uni and back
and then i saw this forecast
i'm staying home https://computerfairi.es/media/595Ch8AnLwpWf63ZBc4
so the 500w psu can stil post an older system, a pentium dual core, but it can't post the ryzen
i don't know if the psu went bad and can't give enough current and that's why it won't turn on anymore or if the mobo/cpu crapped themselves out...
ugh, so stressful
can't tell if that cap in the middle is leaked or if that's just thermal gunk. doesn't look bulged https://computerfairi.es/media/UZXUrDyaxgipAccQnGw
