so i just spent like an hour or two trying to debug why a 4gb flash drive was getting recognized as 2gb only until i realized something had created the /dev/sdb file and i was dding into the udev mounted at /dev instead of the flash drive itself

LINUX IS FUN !!!!

tfw desktop apps give you the "unresponsive script" dialog

i wonder if i need to reinstall xubuntu from scratch or something

but i already did that when my hdd crashed and i had to get a new one, that was recent...

woops sorry i replied to the wrong thing entirely

i do need coffee

*twiddles her ears erratically and slowly out of sync with each other* require coffee......

i found a solution to the "my new phone doesn't have a notification light so i can't see that i have notifications without effort" problem with how my moto g5 works: just put it on my leg

the moto g5 briefly shows its display and any notification pips whenever it feels itself being moved, right? but that still requires reaching for your phone and picking it up

well, if it's on my leg, i just wiggle my legs a bit and look down, and the display is on!

...when did i name this flash drive "DONK"? and the files i .. don't remember most of them...

on my newer, 4th gen i5 laptop i mean

which is one of the reasons i feel xubuntu runs better than this on 10 year old hardware on the thinkpad, which befuddles me
