I am not making a single word of this up
And now in actually interesting watch news, these have been announced by Seiko
Seiko Presage "Sharp Edges" series
Nicely finished, 39mm cases, 6R35 movements
The dial is inspired by a traditional hemp leaf pattern from the Heian period (794-1185) and apparently symbolise growth and prosperity
And you can buy all 4 of them for less than the cost of one of the recent Rolex releases (they're $1,000-ish each)
Ooh, shiny
Yep, those are onyx globes, the right one with indices so you can see what time it is in half the world, the left one the constellations currently above you
And that is indeed a tourbillon down there at the bottom
Aaaand... it costs about a quarter million euros
I'm not buying one because the 47mm case is a bit too big for me, yeah, that's the reason, just a little too big, no other reason
Ooh, these look interesting, new range from Serica, the 4512
Comes in WWB, Commando, and California dials, all of them are also available in lefty cases (crown at 9)
Mechanical STP1-11 movements, although apparently they've opted for the auto variant barrel which is an interesting choice
They all come on Bonklip bracelets which is neat as hell, cost about $650
Casio released a G-Shock watch with an octagonal case, the GA-2100, some people noticed that the case is vaguely similar in shape to the AP Royal Oak, a very expensive steel sports watch, which led to people calling the G-Shock the "casioak"
Now people have made steel cases for the casioak to go in (it's a very easy swap) and are calling the combination the "Royal Broke" as it really does resemble a Royal Oak from a distance but costs 2 magnitudes less
