@JordiGH mathematical notation has value in increasing readability

writing a11y instead of accessibility doesn't, it makes it harder to read, stop doing it if you expect anyone to bother reading your shit

THUS SPAKE THE OCTOPUS

@JordiGH @noelle I'm also saying that i18n and l10n are lazy and terrible for readability

Just write the extra characters so it's easy to read

If you're that lazy then write a macro or something to expand them

@JordiGH @noelle o0n t1e o3r o3r h2d t2s i0s f5g u8e

(on the other other hand this is fucking unreadable)

@maple you are the cutest and everyone should be regularly reminded of that

Remember: don't use "a11y". Spell out "accessibility". Using a term that people have to decipher in order to figure out what you're talking about *is inaccessible behavior*.

And award for understatement of the year goes to:

For some reason, some Markdown implementations on the fediverse right now are either doubling \n or sending \r\n, which gets read as a double newline in many clients. This makes toots with newlines look twice as long as they're supposed to on the FTL, which really screws up the intended effect.

Please be careful with your Markdown implementations so that you're not making your users' posts look bad when they federate!

HEY FEDI DEV TYPE PEOPLE

If you're implementing markdown on your instance can you make sure you're not doubling up on \n or using \r\n? They get caught as multiple newlines and make toots look like crap

"hello! just poked me head around the bush to say thanks for all the food!"

We may need to open more franchises of the hedgehog cafe, had three queuing up outside!

@maple any collector of anything rare has a moral obligation to document the stuff they've got as much as possible and make that documentation available
