mild rant about english literature teaching
amazon suggested I buy a copy of the old man and the sea and it reminded me how much I fucking hated that section of my english lit class
the book's fine, story of a bloke fighting a fish, kinda wanted the fish to win but whatever, good book
what I hated was the constant "THIS IS A CHRIST ANALOGY"
@noelle ah, standard night-time public transport then
@maple somewhere between 1980 and 2020
@maple oh good god, I hadn't seen the new one, jesus fuck
UK politics, Brexit, EU elections
@cassolotl I'd codify the Labour votes as pro-faffing around and not actually coming up with a coherent stance on brexit personally
@maple *brings blankets* have a good charge!
Someone reminded me of the Channel 4 dating programme Naked Attraction and I really want it to be broadcast in the USA so I can watch the moral outrage they're bound to have over it
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_Attraction
Also it'll help get rid of the stereotype they have of us being all prim and proper

Elon Musk's hyperloop project is now literally just a tunnel
His company spent two years and fuck knows how much money developing a tunnel
I can only imagine that the BFR is just a catapult at this point
@cassolotl might make for an interesting jacket?
I came across this, a video about little tiny wireless LEDs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsUsByrOveE
I'm thinking that those, combined with an induction loop in a necklace or something, might be useful for cool cyberpunky light up makeup effects
Or hiding wires might just be easier, I don't know, I know bugger all about things you apply to faces
