i honestly do not see the sense in *why* someone would, as a non-bad actor, look at the pre-baked community covenant and go

this is either planned maliciousness, OR a level of naiivete that means the ethical security #purism offers can never be fulfilled.

this is a safe space, but being run by people who think that a safe space can first be achieved by no moderator reports at all (!), and now is emphatically saying safety can be achieved by NOT letting people who are targets of specific types of harassment know they're safe because the space is explicitly against sexism/racism/etc.

i'd still think a "hey, we're sorry bout the screw-up" would be in order, as it now just leaves the rules stressing about how they totally will have moderators accepting reports from other instances hanging there awkwardly, smelling of an unfinished scandal.
